Report on Hurricane Eta from Cd. Cortes

On Tuesday November 3rd. we got a report from a citizen in Cd. Cortes with the following information, "All normal here at the balzar and terraba rivers, lets not scare the population with false alerts."
Less than 24 hours later, we got a report of residents evacuating the Embarcadero where Terreba river runs through. We also have the following advisory from the Government Services:
ATTENTION NEIGHBORS IN FLOOD AREAS
The municipality of Osa and the Municipal Emergency Committee warn all communities from the effects of hurricane ETA, we will be doing preventive evacuations so that whoever wants to leave their home can take refuge in the following shelters
Palmar and the farms: Professional Technical College of Osa
In Ciudad Cortes: Liceo Pacifico Sur
Communities of the Bahia Ballena District: La Uvita School.
Piedras Blancas District Communities: at the local school
Remember to call 911 in case of an emergency
We urge those who can to leave by their own means so that first responders can focus on those who do not have a vehicle and wish to evacuate in a preventive manner.
This is a serious flooding event, please take warnings seriously.
